How to tell a real card from a fake

Genuine modern cards have a dark inner layer sandwiched in the stock, visible at the edge under light. Text is crisp under magnification rather than dotted or fuzzy, colours are not oversaturated, and the back's blue is a specific shade that fakes routinely miss.
